Tickets Available for Acts 4 Ministry's "Inspiration" Fundraiser Fri., April 1 at Palace Theater

Tickets $45/person for "Inspiration: Inspiring Acts of Love" annual fundraiser featuring Survivor Swing Band playing jazz from 1920s to 40s

Tickets are on sale for the non-denominational non-profit Acts 4 Ministry’s annual fundraising reception, “Inspiration: Inspiring acts of love” on Friday, April 1st from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the lobbies of the Palace Theater in Waterbury.

“This event is an annual celebration of the many ways our organization impacts positive changes in the Greater Waterbury community. We support the daily needs of families and individuals who are in dire financial distress because they have lost virtually everything they possess to a fire, flood, or other devastating life event,” explained the Waterbury-based charitable organization’s executive director, Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta.

The “Survivors Swing Band” will be the widely-heralded entertainment for the fundraiser. The seven-piece professional jazz band plays classic songs primarily from 1920s to the 1940s “era gone-by.” Featuring trumpet, saxes, piano, guitar, bass and drums, The Survivors, whose members are “well-seasoned” retired jazz professionals, play many memorable songs from the “Swing Era” plus everything from hot tunes to soothing ballads to wonderful melodies.

“Acts 4 Ministry is not a church,” explained Carabetta. “We are a collaborative group of a volunteer board of directors, staff members and a multitude of volunteers who desire to share God’s love by meeting the physical needs of others. We achieve this goal daily on many levels by collecting and distributing, free-of-charge to recipients, clothing and housewares with an accommodating furniture program through volunteerism. Each year we distribute clothing to nearly 4,000 people, and over 1,000 pieces of furniture and housewares to people of varying income levels throughout the Greater Waterbury area.”
