Make-A-Wish® Connecticut granted four-year-old Milan Spears’ wish to go to the Walt Disney World® Resort just in time to celebrate her birthday.
Spears’ wish to go to the Walt Disney World® Resort transformed her into the princess she always dreamed she would be. She loves dressing up like a princess, so her wish granters took on the role of “Fairy Godmother” and gave Milan, a leukemia patient, an experience that made all of her fairytale dreams come true.
The Spears family made their way from Waterbury to magical Walt Disney World® just in time to celebrate her birthday in sunny Florida. She was able to celebrate her 4th birthday doing what she loves: dressing up as a beautiful princess! Milan received the full princess treatment in the Disney Parks and was even able to meet some of her favorite princesses for Storybook Dining inside a magical medieval castle. The magic didn’t not stop there for sweet, Princess Milan. She visited the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and got her very own princess makeover!
Milan’s mother reflected on how the wish made Milan “very happy” and how she “had a lot of energy and a great time” during all of her princess festivities. Milan’s wish to go to the Walt Disney World® Resort made her days of playing dress up into a magical, beautiful reality.
Milan’s wish had an enormous impact on Milan and her family. She and our wish kids teach us every day about resilience, overcoming obstacles and about the transformative power of hope. Unfortunately, Make-A-Wish Connecticut faces a record number of wishes waiting to be granted as a result of the recent need to postpone all wishes that involve travel due to the public and medical concerns of COVID-19. More than ever before, wishes need the support of individual and corporate donors to grant the wish of every eligible child. Learn more and help at ct.wish.org.

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH CONNECTICUT
Make-A-Wish® Connecticut creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. They seek to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and volunteers across the state currently grant nearly 250 wishes a year. Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Connecticut has granted more than 3,300 wishes to local children. For more information about Make-A-Wish Connecticut, visit ct.wish.org.
