The Watermark at East Hill Announces Addition, Promotion to Departments

The Watermark at East Hill is pleased to announce the addition and promotion of two associates at the continuing care retirement community. Carla Bucherati has joined the sales team as a sales associate and Anthony Groh has been promoted to executive chef for the community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.

In her new role, Bucherati will be responsible for educating prospective residents and the general public on the amenities and services offered by The Watermark to its residents and visitors. She will coordinate tours of the community and lead informational presentations on The Watermark’s range of living options, classes, and arts and cultural events.

“The most rewarding aspect of my role here at The Watermark is to welcome new residents into our community,” said Bucherati. “It is wonderful to make a difference in their lives; many have a story to share, interests to rekindle, and an eagerness to engage with one another. I have already enjoyed sharing these experiences with them.”

Bucherati has an extensive background in customer service, with positions previously held at The Disney Company and Northwest Airlines. Prior to joining The Watermark, she was the Director of Community Life for another Connecticut retirement community.

Anthony Groh was initially hired as The Watermark’s sous chef and has been with the community for the past six months. While his new position will include purchasing, inventory management and leading events, Groh will continue to work hands-on preparing meals.

“Interaction with our residents is key to creating unique and satisfying dining experiences,” said Groh. “Whether I’m meeting them for the first time or seeing familiar faces at a cooking demonstration, I learn residents’ standard favorites and what they are interested in trying. I’m looking forward to incorporating even more farm-to-table foods, fresh vegetables and seasonal items to our menus.”

Groh has a varied culinary background, with previous positions held at five-star venues. Groh’s most recent position before joining The Watermark was at the Omni Hotel and Resort where he specialized in weddings and large banquets. Groh received his culinary arts degree from the SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill.
