Where to Allow Dog Day Care Centers Debated in Southbury: Report

Two recent applications were rejected.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Zoning Commission voted recently to reject two applications that would have allowed doggy-daycare facilities in a residential section of town, but all hope is not lost, the Republican-American reports.

The Republican-American reports that the commission will work on guidelines that would allow dog day care businesses in town, and officials are debating where to allow them. Officials rejected the applications because it was pitched for residential zones on Old Waterbury Road.

It's likely that dog day care facilities would be restricted to industrial and commercial zones or if certain residential requirements were met including there being a minimum of 5 acres of land, the Rep-Am reports.
