Road Rage Incident Over Garbage Reported: Southington Police
A Southington resident and a Bronx, N.Y., resident were involved in a conflict Thursday featuring thrown objects and erratic driving.
SOUTHINGTON, CT —Local police have charged two men in connection with a wild road rage incident in a busy part of Southington late Thursday afternoon.
According to the Southington Police Department, the incident happened at about 4:40 p.m. in the area of West Street, West Queen Street, then, Queen Street.
Police said Kyle McCarthy, 31, of Southington, was cited for throwing objects out of a motor vehicle, which carries with it a $375 fine.

The motorist who came into conflict with McCarthy, identified by police as Paul Miller, 24, of the Bronx, N.Y., was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment; breach of peace; second-degree criminal mischief; and reckless driving.
Miller was released on $5,000 bond.

Southington police said the conflict started after McCarthy allegedly saw Miller, who was driving a blue Ford Focus, throwing garbage out of the vehicle.
Ultimately, police said the incident deteriorated, with both motorists throwing objects out of their respective vehicles, as well as erratic driving on West and Queen streets.
Police said both McCarthy and Miller were located after the incident and their vehicles, even, sustained minor damage from the conflict.
Early reports indicated a firearm was involved, but police said their investigation revealed no guns were utilized during the incident.
