SOUTHINGTON, CT — A 25-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting Wednesday evening at the Cadillac Ranch Restaurant in Southington, prompting a large multi-agency police response.
The Southington Police Department said officers responded to the restaurant at approximately 7 p.m. on July 15 after receiving a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found the 25-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
He was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to police.
Officers also found a 44-year-old man who appeared to have been assaulted during the incident. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Police said the "Blue Plan," a regional mutual aid protocol, was activated because of the number of people involved and the severity of the incident.
Multiple neighboring law enforcement agencies responded to assist, and the Connecticut State Police are also assisting with the investigation.
Cadillac Ranch has been a fixture in the local entertainment scene since 1992.
Founded by Graham and Bonnie Nicholson, the venue evolved from the Nicholsons' earlier karaoke business and was created as a country-themed dance restaurant.
It has long hosted country dancing, live entertainment, and community events, including the monthly Haymond Law Firm "Bike Night," which raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Wednesday's shooting took place during the July "Bike Night" event.
The shooting remains under active investigation.
Southington police said additional information is expected to be released Thursday.
No arrests have been announced, and police have not released information about a suspect or what led to the shooting.
