Board of Ed Budget Request Questioned in Southington
The board is seeking about $3.1 million more to operate the school system next year over the current year.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - A request by the Board of Education for $92.9 million to operate the Southington School System next year is being questioned by the town's Board of Finance.
The request represents a $3.1 million increase over this year's allocation, reports the Meriden Record-Journal, and is already meeting with some resistance from the finance group.
Board of Finance members indicated that while they support the school system, all of the proposed increase might not be funded as the town works to reign in costs.
