SOUTHINGTON/CHESHIRE, CT — One of the area's more unique — and coldest — fundraisers will take place next month in Southington and participants/teams are still being sought.

The event is called the 19th annual "Sloper Plunge," an event hosted by the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA to raise money for local children in need to enjoy Southington's Camp Sloper, the Y's popular summer camp for children in Cheshire and Southington.

The fundraiser's operations are simple: participants raise money and, then, go jump in a lake.
