Charges Filed for Wild Southington Crash in September
A man has been charged for a wild crash in Southington last fall.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man has been charged for a wild September car crash, police said.
On Monday, Jason Galonski, 32, of Southington, surrendered to police on an outstanding warrant charging him him with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, failure to grant half of the highway, third-degree criminal mischief and traffic violations as a result of his involvement in Sept. 28 collision, police said.
Investigators said Galonski was driving in a southerly direction on Oak Street when his vehicle struck a northbound vehicle on Oak Street.

He continued to drive away from that scene without stopping, police said.
Galonski continued heading easterly on Academy Street without stopping for the stop sign at the
intersection of Oak and Academy streets, police said.

He then struck a large rock and a fire hydrant, police said.
Galonski then turned south onto Academy Lane, crossed the double yellow lines and struck a tree that was
off the east side of the roadway.
Galonski was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries, police said.
An Investigation determined that he was intoxicated at the time, police said.
He is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Jan. 2, police said.
