The upgraded facility will boost production of compost and soil while continuing to generate renewable energy that already powers Southington's fire station, wastewater plant, and municipal buildings, strengthening the town's role in Connecticut's circular economy.

Enabling autism-friendly travel experiences (travelweekly.com) — A Southington-based behavior analyst and travel advisor, Rachel Morelli, is helping local families with autistic children experience air travel more comfortably. Partnering with Breeze Airways, Bradley International Airport, and Margaritaville Resorts, she organized a fully autism-certified group trip to Florida and is already planning future journeys designed around shorter waits, quieter spaces, and supportive staff for neurodivergent travelers.
