Construction Underway on Rails to Trail Bridge
Mohawk Construction is completing the construction of the Route 322 bridge over the next two weeks, improving safety along the southern end of the town's linear trail.
Construction is underway on the Route 322 bridge as part of an effort to enhance safety along Southington's linear trail, but motorists should be advised that there will be delays over the next two weeks.
Mohawk Construction, located on Canal Street, began work on the bridge last week. The bridge is the final project to be completed as part of the Phase II portion of the town's rails to trails construction.
With the framework in place, however, Southington officials said late last week that motorists should expect delays over the next two weeks and the portion of the trail including the bridge will be closed until work in completed.
