Coyote's Whereabouts Still a Mystery in Southington

The animal has not been seen since Tuesday, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — So ... where is this coyote?

"We're still not quite sure," Southington police spokesman Jeffrey Dobratz said.

Dobratz added animal control officers will be on the lookout for the animal. He said it has not been sighted again since about 1 p.m. Tuesday on Hobart Street.

That's when a sighting was reported to police, just as children were in the midst of early dismissal at Depaolo Middle School, police said.

Another sighting was reported on Monday on a town-related social media page.

Dobratz said it is possible the coyote was spooked by work related to power lines in the area.
