Update: Southington Crash Cleared On I-84

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Traffic was slowed on Interstate 84 in Southington after a three-vehicle accident caused some headaches for motorists, but it has since been cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the accident happened on I-84 westbound between exits 32 and 31.

As a result of the wreck, the shoulders were closed.

DOT officials said the accident happened at about 3:37 p.m.

As of 4:01 p.m., the DOT reported a traffic backup of about 3 miles, but as of 4:31 p.m., it was finally cleared.
