Update: I-84 Crash In Southington Cleared

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Two lanes were closed and traffic backed up on Interstate 84 westbound in Southington Thursday afternoon, with officials now reporting the accident being cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the two-vehicle accident happened at about 2:24 p.m. between exits 31 and 30.

The DOT said both the right and center lanes were closed.

At 3:05 p.m., the DOT said via Twitter that the accident involved a truck at Exit 31 near the Route 229 interchange and it had been cleared.
