Founded in January 2023, the group includes former high school band members, parents, local music teachers, and musicians from Southington and surrounding communities.

Organizers said the band continues to recruit new members.

Musicians, high school-aged or older, who play a band instrument are invited to join, with openings available in all sections.

Rehearsals are set to resume in April on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Southington High School band room, as the group prepares for an early summer concert.

The band typically performs four to five concerts each year, and new players may join at the start of each concert cycle.

Those interested in joining can contact the group via email at southingtonsymphonicband@gmail.com.
