Developers Of Withdrawn Southington Housing Project Back Before PZC
Southington's zoning board Tuesday, March 5, will conduct a hearing on a new housing development project for Woodruff Street.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The developers of a controversial housing subdivision at a former nursery — who withdrew a prior application earlier this year — are now back before the town.
The Southington Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday, March 5, will host a public hearing for a new application from Evergreen of Southington LLC, to build a 12-lot residential subdivision that would go on 567 Woodruff St., Southington.
PZC members could close the hearing that night and, possibly, vote on the plan.

A prior plan called for 18 lots, but that application was withdrawn amid controversy and concerns.
Those concerns had to do with more homes and more people negatively impacting everything from traffic safety to the property values of others.

Opponents also said the parcel, which formerly was the Evergreen Nursery retail garden center, should remain as an open space.
