Driver Sought In Southington Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Crash

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police are looking for the vehicle and driver involved in a Wednesday night hit-and-run pedestrian crash.

According to an incident report, at 10:06 p.m. Thursday, police received reports about someone on foot being hit in the area of Bristol Street at George Street. The vehicle involved was reported to be a truck that possibly evaded the scene, police said.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Mikaela Emilsson was located in the road just outside her parked vehicle. She suffered serious injuries from the collision and was transported to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, according to an incident report.

A preliminary investigation showed that Emilsson was exiting the driver's side of her vehicle when a pickup truck, which was traveling south, struck both her and her vehicle. The pickup truck then fled the scene by continuing south on Bristol Street at a high rate of speed, according to a report.

The identity of the pickup truck was not known Thursday morning, police added.
