Driver Who Crashed Over Cliff Identified As Southington Woman

PLAINVILLE, CT — The driver of a car that crashed over a cliff on Ledge Road in Plainville on Sunday has been identified as a 35-year-old Southington woman.

Police said Denise Santana was killed in the accident. She was the only occupant of the car, authorities said.

Authorities said neighbors reported hearing a loud noise at around 4:30 a.m. and motorists noticed damage to a guardrail. Her car was found down an embankment, authorities said.

Ledge Road runs through Sunset Rock State Park. It was closed for several hours.
