Driver Whose Car Hit Runner In Southington Had Suspended License

A preliminary investigation into a pedestrian crash in Southington shows the driver of a car that hit a runner was suspended.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A driver who hit a runner near near a popular trail in Southington last week had a suspended license, police said.

The crash took place On Sept. 29 at 7:11 a.m., police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, Daniel Costa, 30, of the Plantsville section of Southington, was driving a Toyota Corolla westbound on West Main Street when he struck a runner in the crosswalk at the linear trail, near Zingerella's restaurant.

The runner, identified in a police report as 21-year-old Joshua Henriquez, of Seymour, suffered injury to his right arm, shoulder, and a bump on his head in the collision, police said.

Henriquez was transported to via ambulance to an area hospital and was discharged the next day, police said.

Costa was found to be operating with a suspended license, police said.
