Emergency Roadwork Causes Traffic Mess In Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A treacherous day on Connecticut roadways became even more so in Southington Friday afternoon, as Interstate 84 is being impacted by emergency road maintenance.

According to the state Department of Transportation, I-84 eastbound needs work between exits 30 and 31.

This has resulted in the right and center lanes being closed, according to the DOT.

The situation was first reported at 12:59 p.m. and it is still "unknown" when the situation will be rectified, DOT officials said.
