Fallen Trooper's Name Immortalized At State Police Memorial
Southington resident Aaron Pelletier's name was engraved Wednesday on a special monument at the Police Training Academy in Meriden.

SOUTHINGTON/MERIDEN, CT — The Southington resident and state trooper killed in the line of duty May 30 was immortalized at a special state police memorial Wednesday.
According to Connecticut State Police, Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier's name was engraved on the Connecticut Law Enforcement Memorial at the Police Training Academy in Meriden.
Pelletier, 34, died May 30 after a motorist struck him while he was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 84 in Southington, where he was born, raised, and resided.

He lost his life conducting a seat belt enforcement check, part of an ongoing safety initiative. The driver of the pickup truck that hit him fled the scene and was, later, caught.
Pelletier left behind a wife, Dominique Pelletier, and two young sons, Troy and Zach, along with several friends and family members.

State police said Pelletier will receive official honors on National Peace Officer's Memorial Day next May 15, where all fallen Connecticut Law Enforcement Officers are remembered for their duty and sacrifice.
"The Connecticut Law Enforcement Memorial is open to the public 365 days a year, all are welcome and encouraged to pay tribute to the men and women of CT Law Enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice," wrote Connecticut State Police in a statement.
