Update: Fire Reported At Southington Manufacturer A False Alarm

Employees at Paragon Medical have returned to the building. It was a false alarm linked to the water main break nearby.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Firefighters were at the scene this morning of a reported fire at a medical equipment manufacturing facility in town.

Thankfully, however, fire officials later in the morning called it a false fire alarm due to a nearby water main break.

Thomas J. Donnelly, a battalion chief at the Southington Fire Department, confirmed late this morning "it was a fire alarm received that was a false alarm most likely caused by the drop in water pressure from the nearby water main break."
