'Handyman' Accused of Taking $10K Worth of Jewelry in Southington
A handyman took jewels and the loose change jar from a Southington home, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a Southington home, police said.
Jeffrey Couture, 37, of Terryville, surrendered to Southington police on Tuesday after learning about an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to a report.
The warrant charged Couture with second-degree larceny, police said.

According a report, Couture was performing "handyman" work at a Southington home and, over the course of three days, allegedly stole more than $10,000 in jewelry and took loose change from a jar that was in the home.
Couture sold some of the jewelry to area pawn shops, some of which was recovered by police, according to a report.

Police said they are still working to locate and recover the remaining jewelry.
Couture was to appear in court on Tuesday, police said.
