Update: I-84 Crash In Southington Cleared, Road Work Continues
Both sides of the highway experiencing significant delays due to lane closures.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A serious accident on Interstate 84 in Southington had traffic backed up Thursday morning on a day where it's already slow-going in that area.
It has now been cleared, however.
According to the state Department of Transportation, I-84 eastbound's right and center lanes were closed after a two-vehicle wreck.

The crash happened between exits 28 and 30, according to the DOT.
The accident was reported at 9:36 a.m. and it was reportedly cleared by 10:44 a.m., according to the state.

In addition to the accident, I-84 in Southington is already a traffic trouble spot due to ongoing road work in multiple locations on the highway.
Both I-84 east and west are already experiencing lane closures due to the roadwork, which is expected to be complete late Thursday afternoon.
