Update: I-84 Crash In Southington Now Cleared

One lane had been closed due to the accident.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Traffic was backed up more than a mile on Interstate 84 in Southington Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle wreck, but the crash has now been cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the accident happened in the eastbound side of I-84, between exits 31 and 33.

The accident, according to the state, had resulted in a 1.3-mile backup on the highway and has closed the left lane.

The accident was first reported at 7:41 a.m., but state officials said via Twitter that it was cleared by 9:01 a.m.
