Lincoln College in Southington Closing Its Campus
Lincoln College of New England is closing its Southington campus, its top official said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Citing accreditation issues, Lincoln College of New England is closing at the end of the current semester, the school's interim president said in a letter dated Monday.
No new students have been admitted for the fall, and on Dec. 31, the doors will close, interim president Jim Vernon said in the letter.
Lincoln's campus is located at 2279 Mount Vernon Road in Southington. The letter was sent to roughly 200 students.

Lincoln was placed on probation by New England Association of Schools and Colleges on July 26, during the NEASC re-accreditation process.

Vernon said in his letter that Lincoln has reached an agreement with East Hartford-based Goodwin College to take in transfers.
Information sessions on transfer options will be offered for students this week, he said. Tuition at Goodwin is about $20,000 for full-time students carrying 12–18 credits.
