The Chinese food robbery was determined to be related to a Jan. 11 incident in which a pizza delivery driver was robbed in the same manner while bringing an order to the same Motel 6, police said.
During the investigation detectives were able to obtain subscriber information on the phone
number through which the food was ordered and identify Brown as a suspect.
They then tracked the phone, which showed it was still at the Motel 6. Brown was registered as a guest there and was found with $273 in U.S. currency and a small amount of Indian Currency from the robbery. He was charged with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree robbery for the pizza caper.
He admitted to both robberies, police said.
