Man Accused Of Attacking Woman Holding Toddler In Southington

A 30-year-old man is accused of attacking a woman holding a toddler in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A 30-year-old man is accused of attacking a woman holding a toddler in Southington and is facing a pair of criminal charges in the case, police said.

Chad Accarpio was arrested on an outstanding warrant on March 11, police said. He was charged with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct.

The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred in September in which Accarpio is accused of approaching a woman from behind during a verbal dispute and grabbing her around the torso, according to a report.

The woman was holding a 2-year-old child, and Accarpio us accused of squeezing the woman and child until it hurt, according to a report. At the time Accarpio had a set of keys in his hand that left a mark on the child, according to a report.

Accarpio posted a $10,000 bond, appeared in New Britain Superior Court on March 12 and had his case continued until April 9, records show.
