Man Accused Of Pumping Gas While Drunk With Teen In Car: Cops

A case of drunken gas pumping led to charges in Southington, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man was caught pumping gas while drunk and now has a criminal charge as a result, a police report said.

The case dates back to Aug. 11. At 7:36 p.m., Southington police responded to the Mobil Station

at 11 Marion Ave. after receiving a report that an intoxicated male was pumping gas.

Police then found John Donnell, 66 of Southington, in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. A 15-year-old was also in the vehicle, police said. He was found Donnell to be intoxicated. Donnell was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a child in the vehicle, and risk of injury to a minor.

He was released on a $3,000 non-surety bond and was to appear in Bristol Court on Monday.
