The warrant alleges that on June 17, someone eft a 14-karat gold, emerald and diamond ring at a friend’s house in a bathroom.

A couple of days later, the person asked the homeowner to check the bathroom for the ring, which was not there, according to the warrant.

The homeowner remembered that Tobias had visited the residence on the same day as the victim. Police then learned that Tobias had pawned the ring at a local Pawn shop for $55, according to the warrant. Investigators found that the stones had been removed from the ring and crushed, the warrant indicates.

The appraised value of the ring $2,500, police said.
