Man Facing Human Trafficking Charge In Southington
A man is accused of operating a human trafficking and prostitution network in area motels.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man is accused of operating a human trafficking and prostitution network in area motels, including Southington.
Police released details of the Nov. 10, arrest on Tuesday.
That day, Guy Fletcher, 35 of Bristol, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. He was charged with human trafficking and first-degree promoting prostitution in connection with an investigation that started in December 2018, when police responded to a local motel for a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived at the motel, they located the woman involved but the man had fled the scene, a report indicates. During questioning, the woman told police that he had been acting as her "pimp" and "arranging dates" for her at various motels throughout the state, according to a report.
Police also discovered that the man, later identified as Fletcher, was "withholding money and property" from her as a "means to control her," according to a report. A "second victim" was also involved in the trafficking operation, police said.

A warrant was granted in May and police were able to track down Flecther this month, a report indicates.
Fletcher had posted a $100,000 bond and was to apppear in New Britain Superior Court on Tuesday, police said.
