One Of Southington's Bravest Honored With Top Award
The veteran Southington Fire Department captain was named the local American Legion's 2024 'Firefighter of the Year.'
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A veteran firefighter was honored Monday at the town's Memorial Day ceremony.
Southington Fire Department Capt. Andrew Polzella was named the local American Legion chapter's 2024 "Firefighter of the Year."
The Southington-based Kiltonic Post 72-American Legion chapter handed out the award.

Winning awards is nothing new to Polzella, who in 2023 earned the SFD's "Exceptional Service Award" at the department's annual awards ceremony last fall.
