BRISTOL – PARC, the non-profit that has provided family centered services for people with developmental disabilities in central Connecticut, is planning its 2019 Annual Spring Dance for Saturday, March 30, from 6 to 10 p.m. The dance, which will be held at Nuchie’s Restaurant, 164 Center St., includes a family style dinner, two hours of beer and wine, a DJ, dancing and chance to win prizes. Cost is $50 per person or $30 per student or PARC member.
PARC, which is based in Plainville, was founded as a social organization more than 60 years ago but has since evolved to provide activities, support services and resources, Camp Trumbull, and access to education and other opportunities to encourage inclusion in the community. Members include residents of Plainville and nearby towns.
At the dance, PARC will present two John Sullivan Awards – one to an individual and one to a business whose commitment to the organization and its members has been exemplary. A Shining Star will also be awarded to a PARC member who has been active in the organization. The recipients will be announced before the event.
