The Southington Linear Trail will close in sections for sidewalk and paving repairs.

After those repairs are completed, crews will shift operations to the Summer Street and East Summer Street sections of the trail.

No start date for that phase has been announced.

Officials said the work is necessary to address roots from nearby trees that have lifted sections of pavement, creating bumps and trip hazards for trail users.

No reopening dates for the affected trail sections were provided.

Residents with questions about the project can contact the Southington Highway and Parks Department at 860-276-9430.
