Rain Delays Saturday Apple Fest Activities In Southington

Festival organizers made the announcement early Saturday morning, citing the effects of the remnants of Hurricane Ian.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town's beloved Southington Apple Harvest Festival will not escape the impacts of Saturday's rain, with the fireworks show tonight postponed until next week.

In addition, the festival grounds at the Southington Town Green, 75 Main St., will open at 4 p.m. today.

Festival organizers made the announcement via Facebook early Saturday morning, citing the effects of the remnants of Hurricane Ian, which has devastated Florida.

The fireworks show, originally planned for 9 p.m. Saturday night, Oct. 1, will now take place on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Shuttle buses will be available at surrounding parking areas at 3:30 p.m. and all activities on the main stage prior to 4 p.m. are cancelled.
