More Southington Roads Closed Due To Floods: UPDATE
Water in some areas is still rising after the recent heavy rainstorm Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local police and state officials Wednesday morning reported multiple roads are closed in town following a massive overnight rainstorm that hit the area.
According to the Southington Police Department, Curtiss Street is closed due to flooding, with the affected area being in front of Blastech, 702 Curtiss St.
As a result, traffic on both sides cannot get by, police said, and motorists need to find alternative routes.

Route 10 is also closed at Clark Street in Southington due to water over the roadway as of 10:23 a.m., according to the DOT.
Route 10, state officials said, is also closed at Grove Street in town, the DOT reported.
Police and local public works crews spent much of the night Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning monitoring local roadways during the storm, which also melted much of the snow from the weekend, adding to the flooding concerns on top of the 2-4 inches of rain.
"Please continue to drive with caution while we address any roadway hazards due to the rainfall / flooding," wrote police.
The Southington Fire Department, meanwhile, urged motorists to be careful while driving, as some roads may be open, but still have water over the roads, leading to hydroplaning.
