Update: Road Work That Caused Delays In Southington Cleared

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The state Department of Transportation warned motorists that Interstate 84 in Southington was a traffic headache due to all-day road work.

That roadwork, however, has been cleared as rain has overspread the state.

The DOT reported via Twitter at about 1:44 p.m. that the highway work was cleared.

According to the DOT, I-84 eastbound between exits 32 and 33 was impacted by road work that resulted in one lane being closed for a 2.7-mile stretch of highway.

Work began shortly after 7 a.m. and was, intially, expected to continue to about 3:30 p.m., according to DOT officials.
