Road Work Prompting Monday Detours in Southington

A temporary road closure is in order for a busy stretch of road in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A temporary road closure on Berlin Avenue between Route 10 and Vermont Terrace has been scheduled Monday from approximately 7 a.m to 5 p.m., police said.

Traffic will be detoured through the neighboring streets, police said. All businesses will remain open, police said.

A temporary emergency no parking order will go into effect at 11 p.m. on Sunday and will end at 6 p.m. on Monday for the following streets:

  • Berlin Avenue between Main Street (Route 10) and Woodruff Street (both sides)
  • Vermont Terrace (both sides)
  • Vermont Avenue (both sides)
  • Vermont Court (both sides)
  • Academy Street (both sides)
  • Academy Lane (both sides)

Residents and employees needing to conduct business at Town Hall are asked to travel westbound on Berlin Avenue and park in the upper municipal lot off Berlin Avenue.

Residents and employees should enter Town Hall through the Academy Street (north) side of the building.

Residents and employees needing to conduct business at the TD Bank facilities are asked to travel westbound on Berlin Avenue to enter the parking lots from Berlin Avenue.

Police Officers will be on site to assist motorists around the detour and to assist with traffic to and from Town Hall and TD bank facilities.
