Smelly Car in Southington Leads to Pot Tickets for Group of Teens
The car was pulled over Friday night.

SOUTHINGTON, CT ‒ The odor coming from a vehicle pulled over on Redstone Street was a little stronger than that new car smell, police said.
And as a result, four people are facing drug charges, police said.
The traffic stop took place Friday night at 11:05, after an officer observed a suspicious vehicle on Redstone Street, according to an arrest report. The officer could smell "the strong odor of burnt marijuana" while approaching the vehicle, according to an arrest report.

Officers searched the vehicle and the people in and around the vehicle and small amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located, an arrest report indicates.
All of the parties involved admitted that they had smoked marijuana, police said.

Enforcement action included:
- Hunter Saulnier, 18, of Bristol, was issued an infraction for possession of less than a half-ounce marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a court date of Sept. 23.
- Daniel Milligan, 18, of Bristol, was issued an infraction for possession of less than a half-ounce marijuana. He was given a court date of Sept, 23.
- Brian Achim, 18 of Meriden, was issued an infraction for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a court date of Sept. 23.
