Southington Apple Fest Closed Saturday Due To Rain

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Weather issues have impacted the town's biggest civic celebration again, with organizers of the Southington Apple Harvest Festival saying Saturday's edition is closed.

While the festival was slated to open as planned on Friday, Oct. 6, from 5 to 9 p.m., organizers said it will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 7, due to an unfavorable, rainy weather forecast.

Last weekend, organizers closed the festival on Friday, Sept. 29, due to a daylong deluge that day.

While the festival is closed, the arts and crafts show that is part of the festival Saturday and Sunday will go on, rain or shine, as planned.

The show will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
