Southington Arts Summer Camp Perfect For Creative Kids
Southington Cultural Commercial Arts, a local nonprofit, is hosting 'Summer Arts Adventures' for children/teens to enjoy when school is out.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Parents of children looking to expand their artistic endeavors over the summer have just the place to do that in Southington.
Southington Community Cultural Arts, also known as SoCCA, is a local nonprofit arts organization that advocates, teaches and promotes artistic endeavors throughout the Southington area.
Located at 93 Main St., SoCCA also operates a gallery and gift shop and is seen as the artistic hub of the Southington community.

And this summer, like every summer, it is offering a haven for children and teens to appease their more artistic side if they're seeking a break from traditional summer fun.
The program is called "Summer Arts Adventures" and SoCCA activities will last from June to August, according to an event flyer.

It all stars in June with special summer classes in drawing on Tuesday for teens aged 13-17 and special pottery classes on Wednesdays for teens of the same age.
Those will be weekly through early August, accoding to SoCCA.
In addition, Summer Arts Adventures begin July 10 and last daily through Aug. 10.
This, essentially, is similar to a traditional summer camp experience, with different activities on a weekly basis.
There are two separate sessions daily, one for children aged 7-12 and one for teens 13-17.
For example, July 10-14 will feature sculpting with clay, the first week of art camp, which concludes Aug. 14-18 with a potpourri of activities each day.
Fees are charged on a daily and weekly basis for SoCCA members and non-members.
Daily member fees are $50 a day or $220 a week; non-member fees are $60 a day or $235 a week.
