Southington Blue Knights Marching Band to Give Community Performance
Come out and experience the talent of the Southington Blue Knights Marching Band.

The Southington High School Blue Knights Marching Band will perform excerpts from their 2014 competition show at their annual open house on Thursday, Aug. 21.
All parents, friends, young musicians, supporters and community members are welcome to attend the at 6 p.m. performance at the Southington High School Fontana field. In case of rain, the performance will occur at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
The Aug. 21 show is an opportunity for the students to showcase the work they are putting in during Band Camp — which opened this week. The 10-day camp intensive is run eight hours a day and ends on Aug. 22.

The 2014 field show is titled “Lasting Impressions” and the music comes from the composers Widor, Satie and Debussy (Impressionism time period). The music is ”classical” in nature and very demanding.
Also, save the date for the Music of the Knight competition scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18 at Fontana Field.
