Southington Cops Looking For Vehicle That Hit Pedestrian

A hit-and-run crash sent a walker to an area hospital, Southington police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police said a pedestrian was hit by a car Wednesday on Meriden Avenue, near St. Thomas Cemetery and they are seeking the public's assistance in locating the vehicle responsible for the incident.

The hit-and-run accident occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

A witness said a blue-colored Acura RDX hit someone walking on the road and then fled south on Meriden Avenue, toward Meriden.

The walker sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital, police said.

The walker was moving against traffic when struck and was knocked to the ground, police said.

The Acura is estimated to be a 2013 to 2018 RDX colored "obsidian blue pearl," and it lost a mirror, which was recovered at the scene, police said.
