Southington In Coronavirus Red Zone, Mask Directive Imposed
With Southington in the coronavirus high risk category, masks are being required in public buildings.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A mask mandate is now in effect for all municipal buildings and "board of education central offices" in Southington after state authorities said the town is has been in the coronavirus red zone for the second straight week.
The red zone means there is a high transmission rate in town, according to state and local officials.
Town Manager Mark Sciota said masks or "face coverings" will be required for employees and members of the public regardless of vaccination status.

The directive will remain in place until Southington has two consecutive weeks outside the high transmission category, he said.
