Update: I-84 Southington Crash cleared

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Interstate 84 eastbound posed some traffic challenges to motorists following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, but the crash is now cleared, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT reports the accident, first reported at 8:22 a.m., happened in the eastbound lane between exits 32 and 33 and the right lane is closed.

According to the DOT, the accident was cleared at about 9:o2 a.m. Wednesday about a half mile past Exit 32, where the highway meets up with Route 10.

The DOT had reported a 1.3-mile traffic backup in that area on I-84.
