Update: Southington Man Enters Plea in Fatal Fire Case

Eric Morelli, 19, has entered a plea in the case.

Update 12:45 p.m.: Eric Morelli, 19, of Southington pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, according to the Record-Journal.

The recommended sentence is 15 years in prison suspended after 10 years served with five years of probation after that. The family of Kristen Milano, 19, wants the max sentence of 33 years.

A Southington man is scheduled to enter a plea in a manslaughter case after he allegedly threw a firework into a friend’s apartment, which led to a death.

Eric Morelli, 19, is scheduled to appear in court Monday, according to the Hartford Courant.

The June 2014 fire killed Kristen Milano. Morelli allegedly admitted to throwing the firework in an attempt to wake-up her brother.
