Southington Man Charged in Violent Hotel Incident

A Southington man is facing charges after a violent hotel room incident, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man has been charged with a series of violent crimes that included trying to throw someone out a hotel room window, police said.

Michael Lasek, 39, of Southington was charged Tuesday with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an emergency call, second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, second-degree strangulation and second-degree unlawful restraint, according to a report.

The altercation took place at the Residence Inn, 778 West St., Southington.

Lasek was involved in a dispute with another person and is accused of striking the other person in the face several times, kicking the person in the stomach, choking the person to the point of not breathing, holding a knife to the person's throat and attempting to throw the person out a window, according to a report.

The person attempted to call 911, but Lasek allegedly ripped the phone from the wall and hit the person over the head with it, according to a report.

The "victim" was eventually able to get out of the room, police said. The person sustained injuries to the face and head and was transported to a local "medical facility" by ambulance, according to a report.
