Thief Stole Vehicle While Stopped At Daycare: Southington Mom
A Southington mother is warning folks to never leave their car running while picking up a child at daycare after her vehicle was stolen.
SOUTHINGTON/WATERBURY, CT — A Southington woman is warning parents everywhere to avoid doing what she did and ensure no one can steal their car while tending to their child's day care needs.
Southington resident Thainara Figueiroa told WTNH Channel 8 that a thief made off with her Range Rover while she went to pick up her child from day care on Monday.
Reportedly, Figueiroa left the engine running and was only gone for a few minutes as she went inside to pick up her child, a common practice for many parents, especially in winter.

That's when a thief was captured on the daycare's surveillance camera entering her vehicle and driving off.
Eventually, she told WTNH Channel 8, her vehicle was recovered in Waterbury, albeit in need of some expensive repairs. The report did not indicate what town the daycare was located in, but WTNH reports that Waterbury police are investigating.
