The Barnes Museum in Southington is hosting an audience participation play about demonic possession this weekend and next weekend.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — This time of year, many folks enjoy going to scary movies or plays.
But the Barnes Museum in Southington is hosting a supernatural thriller where the audience is, actually, part of the show.
And it will take place Sept. 23, Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 after its initial showing on Friday, Sept. 22. Show times are either at 6:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. (so it will be dark outside).

Set in the early 20th Century, the performance is conducted by Escapism Productions LLC, an acting group specializing in immersive performances, that is shows where the actors and audience members occupy the same space.
According to an event flyer, Escapism Productions "longs to bridge the gap between audience and actors."
Taking place during a historical time period in which spiritualism dominated mainstream thought, "Ex Tenebris" is about a woman being possessed by demons and the audience and cast members must figure out what needs to be done to help.
The show is recommended for those 13 and up, as the subject matter could prove scary to those younger than that age.
Tickets are $45 each for the production and they're available online at the Barnes Museum's website.
