Southington Officials Propose $138.6 Million Combined Budget
The budget would be for the town and school system.

Southington officials have proposed a combined municipal and schools budget of $138.6 million for the next fiscal year.
The school board seeks a $90.19 million budget representing a 3.25 percent increase. The town is requesting a $48.6 million budget, which represents a small increase from the current $47.2 million budget, according to the Hartford Courant.
Refinancing long-term debts and eliminating a highway superintendent position have saved the town money and most increases are due to salaries, health care costs and debt service payments, according to Town Manager Garry Brumback.
